Waxhaw teen killed in Monroe after two-car collision
A Waxhaw teenager was killed in Monroe just before 3 p.m. Thursday as she tried to turn left onto Old Charlotte Highway and collided with a truck.
Emily Brook Parker, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene on Rogers Road after her 2009 Honda Civic collided with a 2005 Ford F-250 driven by 41-year-old Michael James Ivey of Marshville, police said. Ivey was driving east on Old Charlotte Highway.
Investigators were on the scene for hours.
No charges have filed and a cause of the accident is still under investigation.
