One dead in single-vehicle accident on I-485 Inner Loop

One person died in a single-vehicle accident on the I-485 inner loop Sunday morning.

Four lanes of northbound traffic were shut down around 3 a.m. Sunday morning so crews could investigate what happened around exit 3, between South Tryon Street and Arrowood Road.

Heavy damage could be seen on the front and passenger side of the vehicle.

Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
