Police search for shooter after man shot in southwest Charlotte

A man is in serious condition after being shot multiple times at a southwest Charlotte apartment complex Sunday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say.

The shooting happened shorty before 11 p.m. at the South Oak Crossing apartments on Kings Ridge Drive.

Officials say two parties got into an altercation before the shots rang out.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man laying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

That man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with serious injuries.

Police have not released the identity of the victim or given a description of the shooter, who they say is still at large.
