Firefighters rescued six people who were stuck inside a hotel elevator at a post-wedding party in uptown Charlotte early Sunday morning, officials said.

The Charlotte Fire Department around 1 a.m. responded to a call that people were trapped inside an elevator car at the Bohemian Hotel on West Trade Street, WSOC reported.

A Twitter video from the department shows firefighters working to free the guests who were trapped between the first and second floor using a pulley system. The footage shows fire crew members pulling a rope attached to a pole to lift the elevator car.

“All 6 who Charlotte firefighters pulled to safety, were part of the Jha wedding party,” the department tweeted Sunday morning along with a photo of the bride and groom with crew members. “Mr. and Mrs. Jha, we hope today is the start of a long and happy life.”

One person was transported to the hospital in non-life threatening condition, according to MEDIC.
