American Airlines adds year-round Charlotte-Madrid flights — and teases more Dublin travel

Sangria doesn’t have to be a summer drink.

American Airlines now offers year-round flights from Charlotte to Madrid, Spain, according to a news release.

Flights — previously offered only in the summer — went on sale Monday. Looking at prices for November, for example, the base fare for round-trip to Madrid was $1,095.

The new daily Boeing 777 service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) is part of the airline’s transatlantic schedule, the company said. It also includes flights to London-Heathrow (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC) and seasonal service to Paris (CDG) and Dublin (DUB).

American Airlines customers can also expect flights from Charlotte to Dublin to start earlier in 2024, according to the release. Travel will begin in March instead of May, an airline spokesperson said.

The airline recently added a third daily flight to London-Heathrow, as well.
