Human remains found near Charlotte woods Saturday. Police release person’s name, age.

Police on Tuesday released the name and age of a man whose remains were found near woods in Charlotte on Saturday.

Alex Zamora, 44, was discovered after officers responded to what they said was a “welfare” call in the 6600 block of Dupont Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said on Twitter.

That’s just west of Old Pineville Road in southwest Charlotte.

Officers in the CMPD Steele Creek Division found the remains after responding .

Police asked anyone with information about Zamora to call the CMPD homicide unit at 704-432-8477 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tips line at 704-334-1600..
