Truck spills its chicken guts on the road, delaying I-485 commute Thursday morning

Chicken parts cloaked and closed a Mint Hill road near Interstate 485 early Thursday, and that was causing significant delays in the morning commute for that part of town.

The chicken gut spill closed Fairview Road and blocked access to I-485, paramedics confirmed. WSOC, the Charlotte Observer’s news partner, reported that a crash caused the spill at around 5:45 a.m.

It is not yet clear what caused the crash.

Police were directing drivers heading to Mint Hill from Union County to detour using Rock Hill Church Road and Lawyers Road, WSOC said.
