Man arrested, charged 3 days after fatal south Charlotte weekend shooting, police say

Police arrested a man in the shooting that left one man dead in south Charlotte overnight Sunday.
Officers found 29-year-old Reginald Averi Gilkesson shot near 12600 Atkins Circle Drive at about 4:30 a.m., according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department news release. He died at the scene.
Police arrested Justin Duane Rix, 28, and charged him with murder and shooting into an occupied property, according to a Wednesday news release.
