Dozens of NC residents charged for actions on Jan. 6. Here’s who has been convicted.

A former police officer is the latest North Carolina resident sentenced for rioting at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Some 1,070 people have been arrested for their part in the riot, which caused nearly $3 million in damage, has been linked to five deaths and injured about 140 police officers.

Among those arrested are at least 30 North Carolinians.

At least 15 North Carolina residents have been convicted and sentenced. That includes former High Point officer Laura Steele, of Thomasville, who was sentenced last week.
