Thunderstorms, some severe, in Charlotte’s forecast

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the Charlotte region, saying thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall are likely Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds the primary threat, according to the weather service.

The chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms stands at 40 percent.

The day will otherwise remain hot and partly sunny, with a high of 96 forecast.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with an expected high of 93 and only a slight chance of precipitation.

Thursday will be only partly sunny, while Friday, Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will ease a bit as the week moves on, with expected highs of 91 Thursday, 89 Friday, 90 Saturday and 91 Sunday.
