Police respond to reported threats at Charlotte, Fort Mill schools Friday. None were found.

Police in Charlotte and Fort Mill in South Carolina responded to reported threats at schools Friday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police haven’t disclosed the specifics of the reported threat coming from Ashley Park Elementary School.

“At this point, no threats have been found,” CMPD said on Twitter. “Officers will continue to investigate these reports.”

The school is in the 2400 block of Belfast Drive, off Ashley Road in west Charlotte. Police responded to the school just before 10:30 a.m.

Bomb threat reported at Fort Mill High School

Police in York County responded to a reported bomb threat around 9 a.m., Friday, the Fort Mill Police Department said in a statement.

The school is on U.S. 21 south of S.C. 160. The school was placed on lockdown and cleared the school before determining the threat was not credible, Fort Mill police said in the written statement.

Fort Mill police said an increased police presence would remain on the campus through the end of the school day.

Fort Mill High School is one of three high schools in the Fort Mill school district.
