A new report based on an analysis of deadly car crashes has revealed the most dangerous time of day to drive in North Carolina.

According to the study, most fatal car accidents in N.C. occur between 6-7 p.m. The study also found that Saturday was the riskiest day to drive, and June was the most dangerous month.

Georgia-based personal injury law firm Bader Scott, the group behind the study, analyzed fatal accidents reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over the last five years, to determine which hour, day of the week, and month is the worst for drivers in each state.

The worst times to drive were all during the evening hours, with 8-9 p.m. being the second most dangerous hour to drive in, and 5-6 p.m. coming in at No. 3.

The overall worst month to drive in the U.S. was October, with drivers 1.2% more likely to be involved in a fatal accident this month than any other time of year, according to the study.

The study also determined that Saturday was the deadliest day on U.S. roads, and the most dangerous hour was between 6-7 p.m.

When is the safest time to drive?

Drivers who want to travel during the safest parts of the day have to wake up before the sun rises, as the study found that the best hour to drive was from 3-4 a.m. The study also found that Monday was the safest day, and February was the safest month to drive in the Tarheel State.
