Watch your step walking uptown. You might run into a crane.

Construction is booming in the center of Charlotte, with three projects underway within a block of each other near the corner of Church and Third streets. Take a look.

▪ Third and Poplar streets: The Ascent apartments will be a 32-story tower adjacent to Romare Bearden Park.

▪ 300 South Tryon: A 25-story office tower will be anchored by Babson Capital Management. There will also be street-level retail.

▪ Above the Mint Museum: This 42-story apartment tower is expected to be finished in late 2016.
