These Charlotte area hospitals and surgery centers named among best in the US
Several hospitals and surgery centers around Charlotte have been recognized as some of the best care facilities in the country.
The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization focused on health care safety and quality, announced its annual Top Hospitals and Top Ambulatory Surgery Centers awards. This year, over 150 institutions were named as top hospitals and surgery centers in the U.S., including nine in the Charlotte-area.
The Top Hospitals awards are given out in multiple categories to children’s hospitals, general hospitals, teaching hospitals, and rural hospitals. Here’s which local ones were recognized as the highest-performing hospitals for quality and patient safety, including infection rates, prevention of medication errors, surgical safety and other standards:
