Charlotte homicide detectives are looking for a man suspected of shooting into a vehicle Sunday morning on Freedom Drive.

The suspect is a black male, about 5-foot-5 with a medium build. He fled after the shooting driving a blue/green 2013 to 2015 Nissan Sentra. He was wearing a Charlotte Hornets hat, a white jacket and long khaki shorts.

An unidentified male was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries that are considered life-threatening, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Police said the incident began as an argument shortly after 7 a.m. in a parking lot on Freedom Drive near Interstate 85. The victims drove away from the scene. Police did not say how many people were in the car.

The suspect followed the vehicle and fired into it, striking one of the people inside.
