Mystery NC lottery player hits largest-ever jackpot of its kind. Do they know it?
Someone scored the biggest digital instant jackpot in North Carolina lottery history, but the winner remained a mystery Tuesday, as no one immediately claimed the prize, officials said.
The player instantly won the Epic Jackpot on a $10 Bison Bonanza ticket, according to a lottery news release. The jackpot had just reached $1.3 million, officials said.
The winner, from Mooresville, beat odds of 1 in 3.1 million, according to the lottery.
The last Epic Jackpot win occurred in Hudson on Sept. 7, with $307,493 on a Wheel of Bonuses ticket. The jackpot reset at $50,000. The game started in November 2023.
The winner has six months to claim the prize.
