Woman dead after wreck on I-77 North

One person died in an accident on the I-77 North ramp to I-485 on Thursday, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.

A woman was killed after crashing her white sedan into a tree at about 5 a.m., the N.C. Highway Patrol said. She was the only person involved in the crash.

The wreck closed the ramp near mile marker 2 for about two hours Thursday. The N.C. Highway Patrol said the road reopened at about 7:45 a.m.
