Sunshine and highs in the 90s for the work week

We’re moving into August with one more week of temperatures in the mid-90s and only a slight chance for showers.

Monday’s high will be around 94, with a mostly sunny sky and a low Monday night around 72, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday’s temperatures will be pretty much the same, but expect more clouds and a 20 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms before midnight.

That slight chance for showers or thunderstorms will continue into Wednesday, when it should be mostly sunny with a high remaining around 94 and a low dipping a little to around 72. The chance for showers increases to 30 percent.

Similar conditions will linger on Thursday and Friday, with the high Thursday expected to reach 95. Friday should be cooler, with a high near 90.

The weekend should be clear and more temperate. Highs Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach only about 89 with mostly sunny sky. Lows both nights should be near 70.
