Mooresville police arrest 87-year-old man for selling prescription drugs
The crime wasn’t unusual – but the age of the 87-year-old suspect was.
Edward Junior Williams was arrested Tuesday by Mooresville police after he allegedly sold an undercover officer 95 individual 10mg doses of hydrocodone pills, authorities in Mooresville said Friday.
Williams was charged with three counts of drug trafficking in opium/heroin, one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances and a count of selling a controlled substance – along with one count of keeping a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.
He was taken to the Iredell County Jail, where he’s being held under a $50,000 secured bond. Mooresville police say they’ve had no previous problems with Williams. David Perlmutt
