We know you love keeping up with the news, and chances are you’d like to share articles easily with family and friends. That’s why we are introducing a brand new way for our valued subscribers to “gift” up to 10 articles a month to others.

Starting today, Charlotte Observer subscribers can share 10 articles a month — giving non-subscribers complimentary access to our award-winning reporting, local news, opinion articles and more.

How article gifting works:

  • Subscribers will see a “Gift this article” button at the top of stories on charlotteobserver.com. This feature will soon also be available in our mobile apps.
  • Clicking the button expands a menu that allows you to choose how you wish to gift the article. You can copy the link, or open share tools to email, text or post on social media.
  • Anyone who clicks on the gift link gets free access to the article.
  • Subscribers can gift 10 articles a month. The countdown resets on the first day of the month.

• • •

If you would like to subscribe to begin sharing gift articles with friends and family, go to charlotteobserver.com/subscribe.

We hope this feature helps subscribers share trusted news more easily and spark thoughtful conversations in their communities.
