150 tickets available again to see Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson in Charlotte

Carolina Theatre in uptown Charlotte made about 150 tickets available again this week to see Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson on Sept. 4.

The tickets to the sold-out appearance are back on the market after Ticketmaster alerted theater officials to ones bought by “scalpers, bots and other illegitimate sources,” according to a statement by the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts+Culture on Monday.

In a conversation with former Charlotte Mayor Harvey Gantt, Jackson will discuss her memoir “Lovely One” at 7 p.m. at Carolina Theatre, 230 N. Tryon St.

“Lovely One” was released Sept. 3, 2024, and traces Jackson’s “family’s ascent from segregation to her confirmation on America’s highest court within the span of one generation,” according to Random House Publishing Group.

How to get a ticket to justice’s appearance

Carolina Theatre will open special, in-person-only box office hours at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 27. Doors will open at 9 a.m., but line up as early as you like. Each person can buy up to two tickets.

“Tickets purchased from third-party sellers are fraudulent and will NOT be accepted at the Carolina Theatre,” officials said.

The Harvey B. Gantt Center event will be its first at the theater since its renovation. The theater reopened in March.
