Part of I-485 in Charlotte remains shut down after tractor trailer crash

Two out of three lanes are closed and traffic is delayed on the inner loop of Interstate 485 in northwest Charlotte after a tractor trailer overturned Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. near exit 18/Oakdale Road. It will take several hours to clear lanes, according to the DriveNC website.

According to the website, which tracks traffic incidents, maintenance at the spot of the crash will take until 1:45 p.m. to clear.

MEDIC reported one person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Observer news partner WSOC reported the tractor trailer was carrying liquor, and blocked the road on its side.
