2 arrested in connection with robberies

Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies earlier this month in Charlotte.

J’Carta Damon Sanders, 18, and Diamond Channell Pierce, 40, each face two counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Both are in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

A man and woman reportedly robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store at 5455 Brookshire Blvd. around 5:20 a.m. Aug. 6.

Later that day, at about 10 p.m., a man and woman fitting the description of the robbery suspects from the 7-Eleven robbed the Petro Express at 605 Clanton Road.
