Flood advisory in Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus counties

The National Weather Service has a flood advisory warning in effect in parts of Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus until 10:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The weather service warned that up to 2 inchs of rainfall could fall from 7:30 p.m. on. It added that drivers shouldn’t drive on roadways that have pooled water because it only takes a few inches of water to carry away a vehicle.
