Panthers fans, CMS students in luck: No rain forecast

After all of this week’s downpours, lightning strikes and floods, the Charlotte region has only a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, with an expected high of about 88 degrees.

The forecast for the Panthers-Dolphins preseason game at Bank of America Stadium Saturday night?

The weather will be mostly cloudy, starting in the low 80s and dropping to about 70 degrees, with calm winds and no rain forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C.

Similarly good news for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: It should be mostly sunny on the first day of classes Monday, and sunny again Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
