Sunshine on Thursday and Friday, but Saturday could bring a sprinkle

As you’re planning for the long holiday weekend, include a contingency in case of showers Friday night or Saturday.

But expect plenty of sunshine Thursday, with a high around 92, a low around 70 and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms at night.

Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 91 and a 20 percent chance for showers or thunderstorms after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The chance for rain grows to 40 percent Friday night, when the low is expected to be about 68.

That 40 percent chance for rain will carry over to Saturday, which is expected to be mostly cloudy and cooler. The high is expected to be near 83 and the low again around 68. The chance for rain drops to 30 percent Saturday night. Any rain would likely arrive before 2 a.m., the National Weather Service predicts.

Sunday and Labor Day should be partly sunny and mild, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 60s.
