Gov. Pat McCrory and Charlottean Harriette Thompson, who was recently recognized as the oldest woman to finish a marathon at age 92, joined a promotional event Friday at the Cypress of Charlotte to raise awareness of the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The 2.3 mile walk, staged by the Alzheimer’s Association, will be held 10 a.m., Sept. 26, at Symphony Park, 4400 Sharon Road. The walk, held in 600 communities, is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
