Expect delays on Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte

A wreck at Brookshire Boulevard and Mount Holly-Huntersville Road has left one person with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Medic has transported one person to Carolinas Medical Center following the incident, which was reported by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department at 6:17 a.m. The vehicle involved was disabled and blocking part of the roadway.

Also:

▪ A serious wreck is causing heavy congestion on Interstate 77 north from I-485 to Arrowood Road. All lanes are open, according to North Carolina Department of Transportation, which reported the incident at 6:57 a.m.

▪ A high-severity wreck is causing heavy congestion on I-85 south near the I-77 south interchange. All lanes are open, according to NCDOT. The wreck was reported at 6:34 a.m.

▪ At least one person was injured in a hit-and-run wreck in the 7800 block of South Tryon Street in the Steele Creek area around 6:26 a.m., according to CMPD. Expect slow travel in that area.
