Rock concert to honor retiring Davidson town manager

Davidson will honor retiring Town Manager Leamon Brice with a classic rock concert Oct. 4 and a memory box with items from residents to thank him for his more than 25 years of service.

Brice is a big fan of classic rock, so it’s only fitting that Charlotte-based classic rock band the Fretnecks will perform in his honor from 6 to 8 p.m. on the town green outside the town library, 119 S. Main St.

The Fretnecks pay tribute to classic rock bands of the ’70s and ’80s, including Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fogerty, The Eagles, Tom Petty and ZZ Top.

“All citizens are encouraged to attend this send-off event to say farewell to Leamon, thank him for his impressive and effective service to Davidson, and wish him well,” Mayor John Woods said.

Pack a picnic or purchase food at a nearby restaurant.

To contribute a letter, email, photo or other item to the memory box, take it to Town Hall, 216 S. Main St., or email it to cshaul@townofdavidson.org by Oct. 2.
