Free charity symposium in Charlotte Sept. 24

Learn more about making informed charitable-giving decisions at a free charity symposium presented by Better Business Bureau of Southern Piedmont on Sept. 24.

The symposium, “Overhead Myth and Charity Accountability,” is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. in the Sam Lerner Center at Shalom Park, 5007 Providence Road.

Keynote speakers will include:

▪ Art Taylor, president and CEO of BBB’s Wise Giving Alliance, “It’s All About Trust.”

▪ Thomas Lawrence, executive director of the Leon Levine Foundation, “Effective Grant Making: The Leon Levine Model.”

A continental breakfast will be provided.
