Traffic: Fatal wreck closes I-40 westbound near U.S. 321
A fatal wreck shortly after 8 a.m. Friday closed Interstate 40’s westbound lanes near U.S. 321 in Hickory, the state Department of Transportation reported.
The wreck killed two motorists, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.
Wreckers were removing vehicles involved in the wreck shortly before 10 a.m.
The interstate remained backed up, and motorists should use U.S. 70 as an alternate.
