Uptown Charlotte comes across as the setting for a perfect day as the backdrop for a new cross-genre music video by country singer Thomas Rhett, featuring hip hop artist LunchMoney Lewis.

The video for “I Feel Good” debuted Sept. 11 and has been burning up social media with commentary on how it sounds more R&B than country song.

It depicts Rhett walking Tryon Street, trying (sometimes unsuccessfully) to high-five passersby, buying flowers from a street vendor, bumping into people and apparently getting caught up in the night life.

Publicist Tyne Parrish said Rhett filmed the video while in the city for an Aug. 14 show at PNC Music Pavilion (with Florida Georgia Line). The pavilion is also featured in the video.

“It’s basically the lyric of a perfect day,” Rhett says of “I Feel Good.” “I just envision this dude walking down the street high-fiving cops and this lady hands you a bagel because she just likes you. It’s just like this perfect day. Nothing is going wrong, and nothing can get you down.”

Rhett, who has become a common sight lately in Zaxby’s restaurant commercials, has been turning out a series of videos leading up to the release of a new album, “Tangled Up,” next week. He has had three No. 1 songs in the past few years, including “Make Me Wanna” and “Get Me Some of That.”
