You’re invited: Mayoral candidates to debate live on Charlotte Talks

Democratic contenders for Charlotte mayor, Jennifer Roberts and Dan Clodfelter, will face off before a live audience Wednesday during a debate on the “Charlotte Talks” radio program.

The debate, co-hosted by the Charlotte Observer and WFAE and sponsored by Duke Energy, will take place at the McGlohon Theater in Spirit Square. A meet-the-candidates coffee begins at 8:15 a.m.; the live broadcast starts at 9.

“Charlotte Talks” host Mike Collins and Charlotte Observer Metro Columnist Mark Washburn will moderate. Audience members will be allowed to ask questions.

The event is free, but you must register at RunoffDebate.com. Space is limited.

Doughnuts and debate

When: Sept. 30

Where: McGlohon Theater, Spirit Square, 345 N. College St.

Parking: Available in Seventh Street Station. Enter on Sixth or Seventh streets, between North College and North Brevard streets. ($7 rate).

Schedule: Free meet-the-candidates coffee and doughnuts will begin at 8:15 a.m. All audience members must be in their seats by 8:45 a.m. Show begins shortly after 9 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.
