One lane of eastbound Wilkinson Boulevard in Belmont has reopened after an early morning building fire on Wednesday.

Gastonia police, meanwhile, said traffic on Interstate 85 northbound remains backed up to the U.S. 321 exit after a wreck near McAdenville Exit 22 earlier in the morning. The wreck closed the left lane for a while, but the lane reopened by 8 a.m. Still, traffic remained backed up for several miles.

In other traffic news:

▪ One southbound lane of Brookshire Boulevard is closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Gaston-Mecklenburg line for bridge maintenance.

▪ Several interstate ramps are scheduled to be closed overnight in Charlotte this week for pavement repairs.

From 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, the on-ramp from Brookshire Freeway to I-85 North and the on-ramp from Glenwood Drive to I-85 North will be closed.

From 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, the ramp from Statesville Avenue to I-85 North will be closed. The right two lanes of I-85 North also will be closed during those times.

From 11 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, the ramp from I-77 North to N.C. 16 (Exit 11B) will be closed.
