Vehicle plummets into Catawba County creek

Crews rescued a motorist whose vehicle went through a guard rail on U.S. 321 in Catawba County and plummeted 60 feet into Clark Creek, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol. The driver had only minor injuries.

Catawba County dispatch said the vehicle drove off of the Clark Creek Bridge near exit 28 around 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

Maiden rescue crews used ropes and pulleys to get down to the spot where the vehicle and its driver crashed.

Officials have not released the driver’s condition. WBTV
