BBB to host consumer protection seminar in Matthews
Better Business Bureau of Southern Piedmont will hold its annual consumer protection seminar Oct. 7 at the Levine Senior Center in Matthews.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and the program runs 9 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
Speakers include representatives from the office of the N.C. Attorney General, N.C. Secretary of State, N.C. Department of Insurance and the FBI.
Participants will learn how to avoid being the victim of a scam. The event is particularly valuable for older adults, family members and caregivers because scammers often target seniors, according to the BBB.
