Track goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
To kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and race month at Charlotte Motor Speedway – dozens of breast cancer survivors, their families, NASCAR personalities and Blue Cross Blue Shield representatives worked Wednesday to paint the pit road wall pink at the track. Pink ribbons and the color pink are international symbols of promoting breast cancer awareness. Among the participants in the wall painting were Marcus Smith, speedway president and general manager, and NASCAR drivers Darrell Wallace Jr., Chris Buescher, Blake Koch, and Brennan Poole.
