Charlotte firefighters rescue person from construction site roof

Charlotte firefighters rescued a person from the roof of a construction site in the 5300 block of Wilkinson Boulevard Thursday morning.

Eighteen firefighters helped in the rescue, which took about 30 minutes, Capt. Jackie Gilmore of the Charlotte Fire Department said.

The call for help came in about 9:30 a.m.

It was not known Thursday why the person needed help.
