A natural-gas line cut caused significant traffic delays on Highland Street, off Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte Tuesday morning, Capt. Jackie Gilmore of the Charlotte Fire Department said.
Firefighters responded to the incident about 8:50 a.m. It took 31 firefighters 70 minutes to control the cut, Gilmore said. No one was injured.
The cut happened at a construction site, Gilmore said.
In other traffic news, the S.C. Department of Transportation announced that Interstate 95 has reopened in both directions after flooding closed the highway nine days ago.

The southbound lanes reopened Monday and the northbound lanes Tuesday morning.
In Charlotte, police responded to injury wrecks on East Sugar Creek Road at North Tryon Street and on North Hoskins Road at Brookshire Boulevard Tuesday morning.
The wrecks happened shortly before 8 a.m., along with a wreck on Whitehall Park Drive at South Tryon Street.
