Police are investigating a wreck at the Steele Creek ramp of Interstate 485 Outer Loop Wednesday morning. The wreck happened at 8 a.m.

Police also investigated an injury wreck on West Sugar Creek Road at North Graham Street about 7:45 a.m.

Earlier wrecks were reported on Sharon Road at Hazelton Drive, on Smoke Mont Drive at Steele Creek Road and in the 4500 block of Sunset Road.

Cleanup from an early-morning apartment fire temporarily closed Sharon Lakes Road in south Charlotte.

No one was injured in the fire in the 1900 block of Countrymens Court, Capt. Jackie Gilmore of the Charlotte Fire Department said. The American Red Cross is helping two adults displaced by the fire.

In Monroe, crews will be working on the Concord Avenue bridge on U.S. 74 East beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Work will begin with the single, far-left lane being closed, then will switch to the two right lanes and the ramp onto Concord Avenue.
