Cooler temperatures and perhaps some frost to start the week
If you’ve been waiting for cooler, fall-like temperatures to replace those hot, balmy days, the next few days are designed for you.
Grab a jacket for Monday, which should bring sunshine, a second night of near freezing temperatures and perhaps some frost.
Overnight Sunday, the temperature was expected to drop to 32 degrees in Mooresville, Kannapolis and Statesville, according to the National Weather Service. Charlotte’s low was forecast to be a few degrees higher, at 35.
Monday’s high is expected to reach just 59 degrees, followed by an overnight low around 34, according to the National Weather Service.
Tuesday should be a bit warmer and just as sunny, with a high of 67 and a low Wednesday morning of 42.
The sunshine should continue through the week, but temperatures are expected to move back into the 70s starting Wednesday, which should bring a high of 72 and an overnight low around 48.
The high on Thursday and Friday is expected to inch up near 73. The low Friday morning should be around 51, dropping to around 50 Saturday morning.
More fall-like weather should reach the region this weekend. Saturday should be sunny with a high around 66, followed by an overnight low around 49. Sunday’s high should be near 68.
