A Gaston County man has been arrested in an Internet pornography case and accused of downloading and sharing images of children.

Kenneth Shawn Wooten, 41, of Gastonia has been charged with two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to Gaston County Police. Bond was set at $150,000.

There is no evidence at this time to suggest that local children were pictured in the images, according to Sgt. J. D. Cole.

Gaston County Police worked with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the Gastonia Police Department in the investigation.

Those agencies are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, which helps local and state investigators go after people who use the Internet or other technology to exploit children sexually.
