Mooresville names interim police chief
Mooresville police Major Bryan Anderson has been named the town’s interim police chief.
Officials are looking for someone to replace outgoing Police Chief Carl Robbins, who is retiring on Dec. 1.
The town has contracted with executive recruiting firm Colin Baenziger & Associates to help in the search.
Anderson has been with the Mooresville Police Department since 1999, working as a patrol officer, special response team leader, lieutenant, captain and, most recently, as major.
In 2012, Anderson scaled Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, as part of a Charlotte-area Rotary team that raised $102,000 to help eradicate polio. Joe Marusak
