Warm weather Friday, cooler temperatures Saturday
The Charlotte area can expect its warmest day of the work week on Friday, with a forecast high of 79 under sunny skies.
The thermometer will quickly drop on Saturday, however, with a high of only 69 forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
Blame a dry cold front that will push southward into the area beginning Friday night.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers, although the high is expected to rebound to 74.
Temperatures are expected to drop again by the start of the work week, with expected highs of only 66 Monday and 63 Tuesday.
The chance of rain is expected to increase from 30 percent Tuesday to 50 percent Tuesday night, 60 percent on Wednesday and 50 percent on Thursday.
