The victim in a Thursday afternoon fire in Rock Hill died Friday at a North Carolina hospital, officials said.
Robert Thompson, 62, had been taken to the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center burn unit but officials there and with the Rock Hill Fire Department confirmed that he has since died.
The fire at Apartment 102 at 1112 Chandler Drive in Rock Hill started just after noon Thursday. A neighbor tried to save Thompson after several people noticed the blaze before firefighters rushed in and pulled Thompson out of the building.
