Lane blocked on I-77 south near uptown
The left lane of Interstate 77 south is partially is closed near LaSalle Street after a wreck that occurred around 7:35 a.m., North Carolina Department of Transportation has reported.
Expect delays in the area, which typically sees heavy weekday morning congestion when no lanes are blocked.
A wreck at Sam Furr and Westmoreland roads was reported at 7:27 a.m. by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Huntersville Division. Travel through that area could be slower than usual.
Also:
▪ The 300 block of West John Street in Matthews has reopened in both directions, but only one lane is open on the westbound side. A gas leak reportedly led to the closing, according to WBTV, the Observer’s News Partner
▪ A wreck in uptown at East Seventh and North Davidson streets will likely slow travel through that area. The wreck was reported by CMPD around 7:37 a.m.
▪ A hit-and-run was reported at 7:44 a.m. at Independene Boulevard and Charlottetowne Avenue in east Charlotte and could cause delays.
▪ Crews were working to clear a wreck on Providence Road near I-485 in south Charlotte, but delays are still possible due to the incident, reported at 6:58 a.m.
