Streetcar fender-bender reported Friday
No injuries were reported Friday evening when Charlotte’s streetcar was involved in a minor collision on Elizabeth Avenue, according to Observer news partner WBTV.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m., and the scene was quickly cleared.
Earlier this month, the city told the Observer the streetcar – which runs on tracks in traffic from the uptown transit center to Novant Presbyterian Hospital – has had five “contacts/scrapes” with cars so far. The most severe was in July, when the streetcar rolled out of control for roughly half a mile on Elizabeth Avenue before slamming into an SUV. The city said driver error led to that crash.
