Pedestrian suspension bridge and trail open in eastern Lincoln County
The Carolina Thread Trail and Sally’s YMCA in Denver, N.C., officially opened a 66-foot-long pedestrian suspension bridge and nearly mile-long trail on Thursday.
The bridge spans Forney Creek and is the gateway to the new trail.
The trail is in the Sally’s Y Preserve, 85 acres beside Sally’s YMCA that’s protected by the Catawba Lands Conservancy.
The trail connects to the 1.3-mile Thread Trail that’s in the conservancy’s Catawba Springs Preserve, 136 acres of neighboring conserved land.
People can hike and mountain bike on the trails.
