Woman rescued from Charlotte condo; all but 1 pet saved
Firefighters rescued a woman from a second-floor condominium on Vail Avenue early Tuesday.
No one was injured, but one cat died, Charlotte Fire Capt. Jackie Gilmore said. Firefighters saved two other cats and a dog, Gilmore said. Two residents were displaced.
The call for the fire in the 2400 block of Vail Avenue off Randolph Road came into the fire department at about 8:20 a.m. It took 32 firefighters about 15 minutes to control the blaze at The Grove complex.
The fire started on the first floor, Gilmore said, adding that the cause was unknown.
