Cloudy and warm Thursday, but frost is on the way for Charlotte

Thursday will be cloudy but warm, with a high of 72 expected, according to the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C. The normal high is 64.

While Friday should be sunny, temperatures will begin to fall.

Highs of 62 Friday and 55 Saturday are forecast, with respective overnight lows of 34 and 32.

Widespread frost is expected early Friday, early Saturday and again Saturday night and early Sunday, as a cool, dry air mass settles over the region.

The combination of chilly temperatures and light winds will create the frost and possibly even a light freeze, especially Sunday morning, according to the weather service.

Temperatures should rebound Monday, with a forecast high of 61 and low of 47 under mostly sunny skies.

Tuesday could reach 64 and Wednesday 68 under partly sunny skies.

The next chance of showers will come Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Tuesday night has a 30 percent chance of rain and Wednesday a 40 percent chance.
